Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Mai, CEO of FV Private Hospital, attended the meeting on the afternoon of August 1 between Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long and leaders of private hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Ms. Mai, with only three nurses, one doctor and a group of administrative staff, FV Hospital can inject 800 injections per day.

In addition, the hospital is equipped with a cold storage system tested and certified by Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute to be able to simultaneously store 800,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, 200,000 doses of Moderna and 600,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine.

FV Hospital medical staff participate in the vaccination campaign for people as assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health.

However, the hospital representative also petitioned the Minister to allow them to `collect fees for vaccination services` because this is a necessary condition to `balance the budget in the context of common difficulties`.

Ms. Mai explained that FV is a private medical facility and must mobilize a large budget to purchase many equipment for vaccination activities, including a deep freezer storage system and modern cold storage.

In addition, after the Government and the Ministry of Health issued Resolution 21 to encourage all localities, businesses and units to participate in searching and importing Covid-19 prevention vaccines, through foreign relationships.

Ms. Mai said that this way will not only have a large source of vaccines, but people can also voluntarily participate in the vaccination campaign with their financial ability, as a way to contribute to reducing the burden on the budget.

Talking to VnExpress today, FV said that if the hospital is given a vaccine by the city from a common source to vaccinate people, the hospital will vaccinate but charge a vaccination service fee.
