`We will start at-home vaccination for people who cannot go to vaccination centers, including people with limited mobility, people with disabilities and people with special needs. Recommendations have been issued,`

The decision was made in the context of the country of 1.3 billion people intensifying its vaccination campaign.

Regarding India’s vaccination pace, Dr. Paul said that nearly a quarter of the adult population has received two doses and called this an `important milestone`.

`About two-thirds of the adult population has received one shot, equivalent to 66% of the population aged 18 and over, and nearly a quarter of the adult population has received both doses, which is an important milestone.`

The world has recorded 231,338,204 nCoV infections and 4,741,313 deaths, while 207,984,280 people have recovered, according to real-time statistics site Worldometers.

A vaccination advisory panel of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a booster shot of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for people 65 years of age and older and some adults with underlying medical conditions that put them at risk.

9/15 members of the advisory board rejected the proposal to vaccinate boosters for people aged 18 to 64 or working in high-risk facilities, such as medical staff, teachers, and residents of temporary camps.

`I don’t think we have the data to support booster shots for those groups,` said advisory board member Lynn Bahta.

The recommendations, which still need to be signed off by CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, are not binding and states and other jurisdictions can ignore them and take a different approach on booster shots.

Government data released on September 22 showed that vaccination progress in the US was the slowest since July. About 312,000 people received their first shot last week, down 7% from the previous week and 35% lower.

Russia on September 23 recorded a record high number of deaths due to Covid-19 with 820 cases recorded in the past 24 hours, and 21,438 new infections.

Moscow, the center of the outbreak in Russia, saw a spike in infections last week and officials warned that hospitalizations would increase.

Russia has a number of Covid-19 vaccines available, but skepticism among some people has caused the vaccination campaign to slow down.

The number of people testing positive for nCoV in the UK has fallen to its lowest since late June. John Bell, a professor of medicine at Oxford University, said the UK was `over the worst` and

`If you look at the trajectory we are on, we are much better than we were six months ago,` he said.

He also said that there will be many conditions for exposure to the Delta strain, so the UK could see quite a high number of infections.

`We have to get through the winter to get to that point, but I think it will be okay,` the professor emphasized.
