`On the blessed night of the holy month of Ramadan, we remember the teachings of God: He who forgives and reconciles will be rewarded by Allah. Therefore, we, the sons of martyr Jamal Khashoggi

It is unclear what legal impact the announcement by Salah, who is residing in Saudi Arabia, will have on those who have been sentenced in connection with Khashoggi’s murder.

Journalist Khashoggi frequently criticized the Saudi government and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their foreign policy and repression of dissidents.

In October 2018, Khashoggi went to the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Türkiye to complete marriage registration procedures.

Khashoggi’s death caused a wave of outrage around the world, and Crown Prince Mohammed was the most suspected.

Saudi prosecutors late last year sentenced five defendants to death, and three others were sentenced to a total of 24 years in prison in connection with Khashoggi’s death.

However, Hatice Cengiz, Khashoggi’s fiancee, said that the trial sentencing his five murderers to death was invalid, possibly burying the truth.

Last April, a source told CNN that Khashoggi’s family received millions of dollars in cash and property compensation after his death.

This compensation is believed to be an effort by the Saudi government to reach a long-term agreement with Khashoggi’s family members, ensuring that they continue to refrain from public speaking.
