In 2015, movie lovers witnessed the return of a series of movie franchises from previous decades.

If I had to pick the most inspiring return to the big screen last year, Creed is a strong candidate.

Previous parts of the Rocky series revolved around Rocky’s journey to the top of boxing – an unknown boxer.

Ten years have passed since that life-changing match, Rocky is now an old man who has gone through many ups and downs in both life and career.

In Creed, Rocky becomes the trainer of Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan).

Creed is the best episode in the Rocky series since the first episode released in 1976. At that time, Sylvester Stallone was still an unknown actor and bet his whole career on this work.

Subsequent Rocky episodes, while still having impressive moments, overall do not compare to the original version.

Rocky’s passionate fire is now passed on to Adonis – a young man with great potential but lacking a teacher and father figure to guide and give him advice.

What makes Creed different from the average fighting movie is that the toughest battles sometimes take place internally.

Young Adonis represents a breath of fresh air, inheriting the will that Rocky passed down.

Even though it is a work with a seemingly dry fighting theme, Creed is rich in emotion with deep notes behind the aura of the arena.

Sylvester Stallone is the brightest candidate for the title `Best Supporting Actor` at Oscar 2016.

Director Ryan Coogler skillfully kept the framework that made the first episode a success, such as letting Adonis fall in love with singer Bianca (Tessa Thompson), placing the characters in `life battles` or

Details similar to the old version are included naturally, without giving a  forced feeling.

The first six episodes were all written by Sylvester Stallone, but with Creed, that role was assigned to Coogler and screenwriter Aaron Covington.
