(Dan Tri) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a meeting between the Economic Diplomacy Steering Committee and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and associations and textile, garment, and footwear enterprises to support resolution.
Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu chaired the meeting in December 2022 between the Economic Diplomacy Steering Committee and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the afternoon of December 28, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu chaired the December meeting between the Economic Diplomacy Steering Committee and Vietnamese representative agencies in Vietnam.
The meeting was attended by leaders of the Private Economic Development Research Board, associations, textile, garment, footwear, and logistics enterprises and heads of some relevant units in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the context of the textile, garment and footwear industries facing many difficulties and challenges, implementing the Prime Minister’s direction on promoting the expansion of export markets, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a meeting to assess the situation.
At the meeting, delegates agreed to assess that the world economic situation in 2023 will continue to be difficult and complicated.
Associations and businesses request representative agencies to continue sharing information, warning about market risks, connecting trade and investment cooperation with partners, contributing to maintaining traditional markets,
Associations and businesses also requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representative agencies to research and advise on strategic issues such as building a strategy to develop Vietnamese brands, attracting resources to serve the transformation of Vietnamese brands.
Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies requested associations and businesses to develop effective promotion and advertising strategies to enhance the presence of Vietnamese brands in large markets such as the US and EU;
Based on the substantive and specific opinions and proposals of the delegates at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu requested Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies to closely follow the situation and monitor economic prospects.
Representative agencies need to research and share experiences from countries with similar conditions to Vietnam in handling challenges and requirements of sustainable development.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to promote the organization of periodic briefings with the participation of ministries, branches, localities, associations, and businesses in order to focus on solving difficulties of industries,
