According to market data from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) Vietnam, in the past 3 years, apartment prices in Thu Thiem area, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, have continuously escalated.

With the average price of apartments in Thu Thiem in the second quarter of 2019 reaching 4,800 USD per m2, equivalent to 111.7 million VND, the current asking price of apartments here has escalated quite quickly, higher than the speed.

Meanwhile, in the second quarter of 2018, the selling price of luxury apartments in Thu Thiem kept the ceiling at 2,907 USD per m2, the lowest was about 2,293 USD per m2 and the average price reached 2,509 USD per m2, equivalent to 58,000 USD per m2.

According to VnExpress’s survey, there are currently not many apartment projects for sale in the Thu Thiem area even though real estate giants hold more than 70% of the `golden land` lots here.

Meanwhile, in the secondary market, an apartment project in Thu Thiem is just a river bank away from District 1 – the old central core axis, opened for sale in the early 2017-2018 period at 2,800 USD per m2.

Talking to VnExpress, Mr. Vo Huynh Tuan Kiet, Director of CBRE Vietnam Housing Project Marketing Department, said that in the future, the asking price of apartments in the Thu Thiem area may increase faster than the price of apartments in the core.
