On December 1, Nadal announced that the first event to attend next year is the Brisbane International, the ATP 250 tournament to kick off the Australian Grand Slam.

Nadal once said 2024 could be the last season of his 20-year career.

Nadal will still be present in any tournament he wants based on the ATP’s ranking protection rules.

Although he is participating in the tournament with a protected rank, Nadal will not participate with that rank and will be ranked last in the list of participating players.

`I think Nadal’s road back is very difficult because he often has a habit of starting slowly, only playing better in the second week of the Grand Slam,` uncle Nadal – coach Toni expressed concern in an interview with the media.

In addition to the score protection rule, Nadal can also participate in tournaments thanks to a special quota from the organizers.

`I hope to participate in tournaments using the ranking protection rule so as not to take away other people’s special tickets,` Nadal told Spanish media when announcing his return to the ATP Tour in 2024 last week.

Nadal is also guaranteed to attend the 2024 Olympics in Paris, based on the International Tennis Federation’s exception rules for athletes with long-term injuries or previous Olympic achievements.

Nadal has not played for nearly a year, since his hip injury at the Australian Open.
