Very few players have been considered `future coaches` since they were still playing football like Xavi, and this has a basis.

On the field, he is an exceptionally smart player, with the ability to understand the tactical battle going on around him, know how to find space and make opponents leave their positions.

Although Lionel Messi is honored as a Barca legend, Xavi’s role is irreplaceable during the club’s most prosperous period.

Like Pep Guardiola of the previous generation or the midfielders of his time Mikel Arteta and Xabi Alonso, intelligence is what makes Xavi a top player and is also what led him into coaching.

While Spain and Barca try to popularize ball control play, opponents focus on counter-attacking defense.

It is difficult to name a single player who has influenced football to this extent, including `Saint` Johan.

At the age of 41, Xavi has several years of experience coaching the Al Sadd team in the Qatar Championship (QS).

Former Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson shared with The Athletic: `What he learned here is the only thing he lacks: being a leader. In terms of philosophy or playing style, Xavi is probably ready from now on.`

The way Al Sadd plays shows what the audience can expect from a team led by Xavi.

Although Xavi has experimented with many formations, the most popular formula is five attacking players spread evenly on the field combined with three central defenders and two central midfielders.

The central midfielder pair mainly plays in the right position and distributes the ball short, while the two attacking midfielders above are free number 8s and often run to find space.

While Barca teams in the past often used players on the edge to stretch the play, Xavi used wingers to stick inside to finish like Arjen Robben used to do.

In attack, Baghdad Bounedjah set a record with 39 goals in 22 matches at the Qatar tournament before Xavi was appointed.

50% of Al Sadd’s corner kicks are taken short, just the way Xavi liked when he was playing football.

But the important question is whether the above details make any sense or not?

As for Al Sadd, this team is considered relatively high quality and is comparable to a team in the middle of the Spanish second division.

Xavi will almost certainly return to Barca, and faces the opportunity to once again put his special mark on the Camp Nou field.

An interesting thing about Xavi’s post-retirement period is his role as founder of the Barcelona-based company Kognia Sports Intelligence.

Here, he will see a team that has seriously lost quality compared to when he was playing football.

The midfield will be where Xavi makes the biggest mark.

And although Eric Garcia, Oscar Mingueza and Riqui Puig have not shown convincing qualities to become long-term starting players for Barcelona, Xavi will likely still put his trust in players who have grown up from the academy.

Nowadays, many big teams convince themselves that they have a traditional style of play that needs to be led by a former player.
